Health & Safety Executive HQ, Bootle

Pentel Contracts were involved with the architect and contractor some two years before the first piece of ground was broken on site at the headquarters of the Health & Safety Executive.

Early involvement in such a project ensures that all site services could be provided where needed and also allow the benefits of the solar shading solution to be modelled.

Pentel Contracts proposed the Astralux 5000 tensioned roller blind system as this is a proven solution for atria installations.

In total 140 nbr systems were installed covering an area of glazing of some 2,500 square metres. Operation was by localised group operation with radio controlled (wireless) switches. The screen fabric used on these blinds provided effective glare and heat control.

Given that these blinds are installed some 13m above the floor level a durable and low maintenance solution was imperative.
