Pentel hit the heights at Droyslden Academy

22 May 2013

This £12.4m building saw the amalgamation of two existing schools, Little Moss Boys School and Droylsden School for Girls to form Droylsden Academy. This new academy provides accommodation for 1,200 students aged 11 - 16 and a new 200 place sixth form.

The contractor, Carillion Building Services, awarded Pentel Contracts with the challenge of surveying, manufacturing and installing motorised roller blinds to the high level clerestory windows along with manually operated roller blinds to standard glazing at ground floor level.

Pentel used the versatile Astralux 3000 roller blind system for both the motorised and manually operated blinds.

The motorised blinds were operated by a radio controlled handset.

The high level blinds had to be installed using powered access equipment and all of the Pentel Contracts installers are IPAF and PASMA trained.
